Robin Falls Northern Territory Australia
Enjoy a refreshing dip into the scenic Robin Falls,
located along Dorat Road near Adelaide River township,
off the Stuart Highway. The falls are reached by a
short walk following a crystal clear creek through
scenic bush surrounds. The area is home to a wide
variety of flora and fauna unique to the Top End and
affords lovely views back over the cascading Falls.
A small but rather attractive three-tiered waterfallwhere
I had to get up close to view it all.
An idyllic spot to get away from the crowds. An
great spot to get away from it all.
The turnoff for Robin Falls is about 11km to 12km
south of the Adelaide River township on the sealed
but rather narrow Dorat Road (see below). At the turnoff
proceed along where it appears to be rather rough
and rocky 4wd access. There's a basic car park at
the end of the unsealed road and there is where the
hike on a trek starts.
Follow the creek upstream where the trail starts
off reather easy to read but then it becomes less
defined the further you go. Eventually leading to
some scrambling over rocks. Then eventually you get
to the Robin Falls. Careful around here the rocky
surface was slippery ( this appears to be a seasonally
feed waterfall).
Overall, allow 45 to 90 minutesfrom the start of
the car park and back to your 4wd camper.
Adelaide River was 33km south of Batchelor (around
a slow 45 minutes drive) and 115km (around a slow
2 hours drive) south of Darwin.
